George Delgado

George Delgado was born on Dec. 2, 1992, in San Antonio Texas, moved to Pleasanton at an early age and finished high school at Pleasanton High School.

George is an Education major in his first semester at Palo Alto who wants to teach history and sociology, specializing in grades eight through 12.

“I want to be a teacher so I can make kids care,” he said.

George thinks too many kids who are out there in school right now don’t care about their education and think school is boring. He wants to be the teacher who makes learning fun and interesting. He is an active member at First Baptist Pleasanton, his local church. He also spends a lot of his time playing guitar, drawing and reading. He reads anything that will catch his attention, and he has really been into drawing tattoo designs lately.            

This isn’t George’s first semester in college, just at Palo Alto. George transferred to Palo Alto from Baptist University of the Americas. He said that Baptist University of the Americas was more of a school to go to if you wanted to be a preacher or pastor. Realizing that wasn’t what he wanted to do, he made the switch as soon as possible.

“Palo Alto has more options and classes to choose from, more people to meet, and a lot cheaper than Baptist University. Also, Palo Alto had the degree plan I wanted,” he said.

After his associate's, George wants to transfer to UTSA to get his bachelor’s degree.
