Faculty Support

Each full-time faculty member at Palo Alto College is allotted $100 to support conference travel per academic year. Faculty may, and have often, pooled their funding to support conference attendance of another colleague in the college. Faculty are urged to discuss conference attendance plans and funding with their department chair, and funding may also be provided by the dean, particularly if the faculty member is presenting at a conference. Once it is determined that there is funding to support travel, faculty should review travel procedures on the Alamo Colleges Fiscal Affairs web site, fill out a Travel Authorization form (found under "Forms" on this web site), and obtain the required approvals.

Palo Alto College also supports faculty professional development with grant funds dedicated to providing consultants who give seminars and workshops focused on helping at risk students achieve learning success.
