        This book, which is more of a journal scrapbook, was the best resource I came across. During my attempts for additional sources, I never found more than a couple of paragraphs regarding Kirby's history. This is a problem. In order to present a small town's history, the citizen's need to involove themselves in it's conservation. Ms. Weller was extremly invovled with her city and public events. She wrote down these accounts and made it possible for a student like me to learn about Kirby in the early 1900's. Virtually all of my report is based on the facts included in her book. I dedicate this project in her memory and hope to make someone more aware of what Kirby is today, "Picks up the ball."
