Narrative

Statement of Rationale for Judgment of Compliance

For each degree program with a major, Palo Alto College assigns responsibility for program coordination and curriculum development and review to Program Coordinators academically qualified (and/or qualified through vocational experience) in the field.  For each program without a major, where areas of concentration are assigned, Program Coordinators academically qualified in that discipline are assigned to oversee coordination and curriculum development.  The case for compliance is as follows:

Qualifications and Responsibilities

All Program and Discipline Coordinators are Palo Alto College faculty and meet the employment qualifications set forth in Procedure D.2.3.2[1].  As such, they are each well qualified to develop, implement, and evaluate the degree programs and areas of concentration which are, by discipline, their specific responsibility.

The 2016-2017 Program List[2] with Leads provides the 2016-2017 Program and Discipline Coordinators, their areas of responsibility, and the educational background and/or related vocational experience that qualify them for their role in coordination and development of curriculum.

As articulated in Board Policy A.1.1[3], the College District is known by the assumed names of “Alamo Colleges” and “Alamo Colleges District” or the “Alamo Community College District.” References to these assumed names in the narrative and any supporting documentation are equivalent.
