What was my best Spring Break ever? That’s easy, my senior trip to Disneyland in 2007.

The bus ride from San Antonio to Anaheim, Calif., took 26 hours, three of which I was able to get some sleep.

We spent three days in Anaheim, the first at California Adventures. We rode the Hollywood Tower of Terror six times. It’s the best ride there.

The next day we went to Universal Studios, where we spent the whole day on one side, only to find that there was a whole other side to the park when we were already leaving.

The last day, we went to Disneyland and saw Mickey Mouse. I felt like I was 5 years old again.

On the 30-hour bus ride home, I slept through half of California, all of Arizona and New Mexico, and woke up in Texas.

I’ll never forget the countless times we played Scategories on the bus, the shaving cream fight in the hotel room, staying up till 3 a.m. to see the ending of a Lifetime movie, or the many Japanese tourists giving the peace sign for pictures.

My senior trip will definitely be a Spring Break I’ll never forget.

My best Spring Break was at South Padre Island in 2007. We arrived the Monday after Spring Break. As many weekend revelers were leaving, we were just arriving.

I’d always wanted to parasail, but I chickened out every time and would justify my fears. “It’s too windy,” I’d say or “It’s too expensive.” This time was different.

My teenage sons were with me and pushing me to do it. Finally, I said I’d do it but only if they went with me. Suddenly, they were the ones making excuses.

In the end, all three of us went up together. I was a little nervous and so were they.

As the boat took off and the parasail started rising, the nervousness went away and a sudden peacefulness took over. It was awesome! It was so quiet up there, and the view of the island was spectacular.

We must’ve been up there in the sky for about 15 minutes before the boat driver started to pull us in. Little did we know there was a surprise in store.

Just before reeling us onto the boat, the driver dunked us in the water. What an adrenalin rush that was! This was my best Spring Break.

My best Spring Break might not have been last year, but it was one I know I will never forget.

For Spring Break of 2001, my family and I took a very long but well worth-it road trip to Florida. We went to visit family and to see some theme parks. During our five days there, we spent two days at two different theme parks of Disney World, one day at Universal Studios, another day at Busch Gardens and a resting day with our relatives.

I had been to all these places a few times before, only I was younger and unable to fully remember a lot of what we had done. This time around, though, it was a lot easier to remember all we did and I definitely appreciated and enjoyed all of the quality time spent with my family and all the fun we had at the theme parks.

I’m not sure when exactly I’ll get to go back, but I know my family is planning to go again one day. I just can’t wait until then to experience all that Florida has to offer.

The best Spring Break I remember was back in 2005. I loved it, because I didn’t go on a trip anywhere. Instead, I got to sleep in late – my favorite thing to do. Also, I finally had time to spend with my friends and family.

I went bowling with a few of my friends, which I enjoyed even though I believe I bowled the lowest score every game. It was great that I finally got to spend time with them again.

During the week, my younger brother and I hung out with a couple of my cousins and we played Mario House Party on their Nintendo 64 all day long. I can’t remember the last time I played that game, and I’d forgotten how much fun it was.

The best part of the week was going with my sister and my mom to see the musical “Chicago” at the Majestic. I love going to see musicals and plays. “Chicago” is not the best musical I’ve seen, but it was pretty good and entertaining nonetheless.

So with all the late sleeping I did and the various activities during the week, I thought that my 2005 Spring Break was the best I’ve ever had.

Mario

Spring Break. Those two words are synonymous with carefree attitudes and reckless abandon for the average college student at least that’s what MTV tells us.

While many students may travel to South Padre or Mexico, some of us have to work and do not have the extra income to allow for such a grand trip.

My Spring Break is not a fun-filled trip to the coast but one spent at work or at home trying, in vain, to finally beat Super Mario Brothers on the Super Nintendo. I often feel the desire to dust off my old game systems in the summer and replay the classics like Sonic the Hedgehog, but previous Spring Breaks have provided me with free time to get a head start.

With the economy in shambles and my own bank account not fairing much better, this looks to be my plan for the coming break as well.

While I will not be seen running wild on the streets of Cancun or Cozumel, I may finally defeat Bowser and his minions and save the Princess.

Spring Break 2008 was the best spring break I’ve ever encountered.

Vacations prior to that were always a blur and never really left that mark of happiness in my mind of memories. I’m assuming that was in large part my fault, because I never wanted to leave San Antonio. After holding part-time jobs and being full-time students, my friends and I decided that we should attempt Florida for our next spring break vacation.

Months of planning finally became reality, and we were off to Florida for five days and four nights. First we had to get through an open road of bugs that flew at our windshield for 19 hours, but the treasure was ours to find and Disney World marked the spot.

At last we arrived; we were like 5 year olds who have never envisioned something so astonishing. We had no idea where to start. Four parks and so little time. Our minds were running at a thousand miles an hour.

We finally came to the conclusion that we would visit a park a day. Genius! Epcot on Sunday, Magic Kingdom on Monday, Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Tuesday, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Wednesday.

The trip was filled with classic attractions, Disney characters, a wildlife safari, amazing parades and heart-warming memories I’ll never forget.
