PAC Library hosts annual El Día de los Niños
Palo Alto College Children’s Library will celebrate its second annual El Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros on April 30, 2006. The events will feature library readings and activities focusing on the theme of children’s health and fitness. The free festivity will be at the Ozuna Center from 1 – 4 p.m. El Día de los Niños is a world-wide event from the Latino Community to honor and celebrate children. Playing around
The Palo Alto Theater Department recently presented “It’s Just a Stage,” a comedy in two acts from March 30 through April 1. Professor Ann Turner directed the performance. Palo Alto searches for stellar students
Palo Alto’s search for “Student of the Month” is on. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to the student who is selected for October 2006. Students may not nominate themselves. Student to compete in Nashville
Palo Alto students will compete at this summer's National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn., after placing at the 2006 Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference. Among those who placed first were Michael Palacios, computer concepts; Maria Casas, sales presentation; and Abenoella Ching, public speaking. Marsha Gonzales placed second in word processing. Kim Camacho, Rosann Alfriedo and Naomi Cavins placed third for multimedia production. Gonzales was elected as the 2006-2007 State Vice President of Advancement for her role as Texas Phi Beta Lambda State Officer. -Kyle Friesenhahn

While security and safety are top priorities for the ACCD community, crimes still occur. The best thing you can do is to be aware of the security services at your disposal. Palo Alto College celebrates its graduates
Approximatley 300 students will participate in Palo Alto College’s graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the Joe and Harry Freeman Colesium. Dr. Ricardo Romo, president of UTSA, will give the keynote address.

Admission is free, but there will be a $5 per car parking fee. Graduates with an official parking permit, cap and gown will not have to pay for parking. Arrival should be no later than 5:30 p.m. for those participating.

A total of 865 degrees and certificates will be awarded this academic year: 152 associate of science degrees, 318 associate of arts degrees, 145 associate of applied science degrees, 3 associate of arts in teaching and 247 certificates of completion.
