Web Sites

www.conversetx.net

The web site was full of good information, but was not useful for my purposes. It's the "official" website of converse. It has city service, council commission, employment, and recreation information.

En.wikipedia.org/wiki/Converse, Texas

It doesn't have history information but good accurate demographic information. It may be useful. It has many statistics of the town.

www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/CC/hgc14.html

This website was pretty helpful, but not very much information.

www.city-data.com/city/Converse-Texas.html

This website is a really great source for information. It may be helpful. There was no historical information at all.

http://www.let.leidenuniv.nl/history/migration/chapter52.html

This website helped give some pretty accurate numbers on immigration into America.

www.conversetx.net/ord704.htm

This website was not useful for my purposes.

www.citytowninfo.com/places/texas/converse

This website was a great source of information. It had even more demographic information, which may be useful.

Books & Photos

Amy Prochnow Voges.Converse

This is where most of my historical information comes from. Amy did an amazing job of putting together her information. Its full of first hand sources, and it has many interviews in it, which will be incredibly useful. It also has pictures of the residents in town.

People

Howard Walter Marbach. Converse Community Library, 10:00 am

Mr. Marbach was a tremendous help. He gave much insight in what accord many years ago. He actually experienced many of the things he talked about. He was also really important because his grandfather actually played a crucial part in the establishment of converse.
