Local Bank Robbery:

Bank Robbers On November 7, 1956, Sabinal National Bank was robbed by two men dressed in every day clothes and wearing dark glasses. As they walked up to the counter they shoved their revolvers into the faces of Durham and Johnson and demanded that all the currency be placed in a paper bag. Durham complied angrily to robber #1's request. The first robber then asked him where the big money was located. When Durham answered "in the vault", robber #1 responded "get it". Durham then replied, "get it yourself". Once the robber went inside the vault to get the money, Durham closed the door. Robber #2 quickly warned Johnson and Durham to open the door immediately. Once the door was opened the robbers locked the customers in the vault which he had just left. One of the customers wrote down the license plate of the recently stolen 1955 Ford and was used to capture the robbers.
